Summer 2010!

Friday, September 3rd, 2010

Okay, I know I’ll leave something out here. But, I’ve had a lot go on so far this summer. Here’s a little of what I’ve been up to the past few months.

I went to Memphis and spent the afternoon with Marie Pizano, president and CEO of UROC Music Management, and got to meet her adorable kids.

Jim "Moose" Brown and Stormy

Jim “Moose” Brown took a little time to write with me as soon as he finished with Darryl Worley’s new project. I really loved getting to go up there and check out the “Moose Lodge” where so many awesome artists like Jamey Johnson, Darryl Worley, Shooter Jennings, and Jessi Colter have recorded. Way too cool!

Gary Gentry

I’ve been writing all summer with the legendary Gary Gentry, who wrote songs for George Jones, Ray Charles, Johnny Paycheck, Del Reeves, John Anderson, and David Allan Coe. My favorite one has to be The Ride.

Stormy on Stage with Sudden Thoughts

Martin, TN, one of northwest Tennessee’s favorite party towns, has a new nightclub called Club 226. I got to help break it in with Sudden Thoughts.

Stormy with her new Elite Guitar

Jeff Dall of Elite Guitars Canada surprised me  by sending a beautiful new guitar. I’ll post up some better pictures of the guitar soon. Loving it so far! Thanks so much, Jeff!

Dave Brainard

Lucky, lucky me! I’m back in the studio. I’ve been doing demos with Dave Brainard, Mr.Famous, now that he’s the number one producer in Nashville. Atleast, I think so. I want some of the Jerrod Niemann luck to rub off on me, now. I’ve had a blast working with Dave again towards MAYBE another project. We’ll have to see!

Stormy singing at the CMN benefit

July 24th, I got to sing at a great benefit at Weldon Park in Martin, TN. The benefit was for the Children’s Miracle Network. The assistant manager, Sabra, from Walmart asked me to come sing, and gladly did so for this great cause. The heat index was 108 that day. Crazy hot!  Special thanks to Sabra Cannon for inviting me, and to Jacob Bryant for giving me a much needed lift due to a flat tire.

I’ve done a BUNCH of radio interviews this summer, one being with KYTN 104.9
I was also the featured artist on the Southern Star Network and Tradewinds Radio for a week. That was pretty awesome!

The Keg

 August 6th, 2010.
The Keg is Dead. LONG LIVE THE KEG!

They’re not really dead, just switched over to new owners.
I did a closing show for the old management, and I am looking forward to seeing what the new owners can come up with for this old favorite dive.

So, this is just a small taste of what I’ve had going on this summer. I’ve got some great things in the works for fall. Can’t wait for football season!

GO FLORIDA STATE SEMINOLES! (had to, sorry hahaa)

I’ll try to keep more posted on here!
Much love,
-Stormy
